A picture while waiting for the connecting domestic flight to Chitose airport. Internet connection in the airport is free with good speed.
The flight to Chitose was approx 2 hours which passed quickly, JAL stewardesses served us drinks. When she noticed me taking out some bread to eat she offered us another round of drinks. Ahh... Japanese service is the best. Or maybe she was just afraid I would choke on my piece of dry bread lol. This is the JR info desk at Chitose airport. JR stands for Japan railways, IMHO their packages are good value for money and all JR stations are always equipped with tourist info such as pamphlets and such. Main stations such as this have info desks where info is available in a couple of languages. Very helpful staff! It's also called 緑の窓口 or green counter.
Our first lunch in Hokkaido at Yagumo, which is famous for its soba. Portions are big and cost about 700 to 800 yen per person. This branch was located right at the JR complex of shopping centres. It's a shopping and eating haven, you don't even have to step a step outside of the building as there are 4 shopping centres connected to each other. We arrived right in the middle of a 2 week sale.
